{"id":831778,"date":"2026-07-29T18:13:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T18:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/831778\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T18:13:18","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T18:13:18","slug":"adelaide-police-stabbing-female-police-officer-stabbed-in-neck-suspected-attacker-shot-on-adelaide-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/831778\/","title":{"rendered":"Adelaide police stabbing: Female police officer stabbed in neck, suspected attacker shot on Adelaide street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A female police officer has been stabbed in the neck and her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/topic\/crime-5w4\" class=\"sc-eRZcwA dNXoqI\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">suspected attacker<\/a> shot in the leg in a daylight attack in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/topic\/adelaide-65w\" class=\"sc-eRZcwA dNXoqI\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adelaide\u2019s north<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Police said they received several reports from the public about a man armed with a knife running across Main North Road, Elizabeth East, on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Emergency services at a scene in Adelaide after a police officer was stabbed.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2fea6d884b0ef7d3cc6a8d2f93339aa99d53785f0f46f1c1eb6195004437e968.jpeg\"  width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"_0b53bae146db0b62 _7475dd3391ee1518\" style=\"--text-color:var(--color-text-secondary)\">A police officer has been stabbed in the neck in Adelaide.\u00a09News<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded immediately, but when they went to confront the armed man, a police officer was stabbed in the neck, and the 27-year-old suspect was shot in the leg by police.<\/p>\n<p>Both were rushed to hospital for treatment for their injuries, with the suspect in police custody while receiving medical care.<\/p>\n<p>The injuries to both the police officer and her alleged attacker are not considered life-threatening. <\/p>\n<p>Addressing the media on Wednesday afternoon, Superintendent David O\u2019Donovan said the alleged assailant will be charged over the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can assure you that we will be putting to the court all of the circumstances as they occurred,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe will be facing some very serious charges &#8230; I\u2019ll leave that to your imagination.
