Brisbane Broncos front-rower Corey Jensen is poised to announce his retirement from rugby league after a life-threatening health scare.<\/p>\n

Sidelined since April 18 after suffering a pulmonary embolism, CODE Sports<\/a> understands that Jensen has played his final match in the NRL following a blood clot ordeal in his lungs.<\/p>\n

Regarded as one of the game\u2019s hardest-working and most professional forwards, the 32-year-old has featured in 153 matches – 58 for the North Queensland Cowboys and 95 for the Broncos – since his debut in 2017.<\/p>\n

A two-time Grand Finalist and a key figure behind the Broncos’ premiership win last season, the Bowen Seagulls junior was placed on blood thinners and underwent several tests in a bid to return to the field.<\/p>\n

However, he decided to hang up the boots after months of investigations in a heartbreaking end to his nine-year career.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is in the DNA of the organisation, he is the first here still and the last to leave, that\u2019s Corey Jensen.<\/p>\n
