{"id":832569,"date":"2026-07-30T03:07:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T03:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/832569\/"},"modified":"2026-07-30T03:07:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T03:07:09","slug":"federal-labor-mp-luke-gosling-charged-with-assault-of-nt-administrator-david-connolly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/832569\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal Labor MP Luke Gosling charged with assault of NT Administrator David Connolly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Federal MP Luke Gosling has been charged with assaulting Northern Territory Administrator David Connolly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The administrator&#8217;s office has alleged the incident occurred during the NT Thailand Grand Festival, a community event held in Darwin on July 18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police began investigating the matter last week and arrested the 54-year-old Labor MP this morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">NT Police have since charged Mr Gosling with two counts of assault on the administrator or judges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">In a brief statement following his arrest, Mr Gosling said: &#8220;The Northern Territory Police have released a statement on this matter.
