Unlike previous campaigns, Hazlewood revealed Australia\u2019s preparation has been designed specifically for the demands of Test cricket, with the squad able to gradually build workloads without the interruptions of white-ball cricket.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis has been sort of tailor-made for a Test match, which I think should work out well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been trying to replicate a day in the field of Test cricket really. It\u2019s bowling multiple spells in a day, it\u2019s bowling back-to-back days.<\/p>\n
\u201cLeading into other Test series and Test matches, you\u2019re playing T20, you\u2019re playing one-days, you\u2019re travelling. So it\u2019s tough to fit those bowling sessions in.\u201d<\/p>\n
The uninterrupted preparation has also allowed Australia\u2019s quicks to better manage their bodies throughout camp.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we\u2019re not feeling great, then you sort of don\u2019t have to bowl that day. It\u2019s not like a white-ball game where you have to play again,\u201d Hazlewood said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been other moments where we\u2019re feeling good, let\u2019s bowl back-to-back again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hazlewood\u2019s return also reignites one of Australia\u2019s biggest selection debates, with Scott Boland once again pressing his case after another outstanding run of performances.<\/p>\n
Rather than viewing Boland as competition, Hazlewood hopes the pair will spend far more time sharing the new ball over the next 18 months.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d love to play more with Scotty,\u201d Hazlewood said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery time he\u2019s come in, he\u2019s done unbelievably well. His career just keeps getting better and better the older he gets.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think there\u2019s enough opportunities in the next 12 months, 18 months for us to play a lot of cricket, hopefully together.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Hazlewood and Boland leading Australia\u2019s pace attack, while Michael Neser and Brendan Doggett remain ready to step in, Hazlewood believes the nation\u2019s depth will be crucial throughout the demanding stretch.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we\u2019ll have to lean on all six at some point in the next sort of 18 months.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very important. I think it speaks for itself what happened last year. <\/p>\n
\u201cPatty played one Test, I played none, and Ness and Doggy jumped in when they needed, and we won the series. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think that speaks for itself,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Despite the workload awaiting the Australians, Hazlewood says the group remains motivated by the opportunity to achieve what few Australian teams have managed before.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe big series are obviously England and India,\u201d Hazlewood said.<\/p>\n
