Image: InSyde Media<\/p>\n<p>Team CEO Barry Ryan has revealed Tremain will return to the squad following a two-year stint in IndyCar with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.<\/p>\n<p>Tremain was crew chief for Erebus during its 2023 championship success before being elevated to team principal.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan assumed those duties upon Tremain\u2019s departure and described the Kiwi as a \u201ccritical guy\u201d to have back on Erebus\u2019 books.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s knocked back on the door wanting to come back and Betty [Klimenko] and I have embraced him to lead the team again as team principal,\u201d said Ryan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrad was with us from 2016 to 2024, so for him to go and get that two years experience overseas has been amazing for him I\u2019m sure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019ll come back with way more experience and ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tremain departed for America while Erebus underwent major changes at the end of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>That famously included star driver Brodie Kostecki and race engineers George Commins and Tom Moore all heading for Dick Johnson Racing.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-969275\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/f373b137-db18-6944-0fab-7ee404a4846f-1.jpg\" alt=\"Erebus Motorsport team principal Brad Tremain\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Erebus Motorsport team principal Brad Tremain. Image: Supplied<\/p>\n<p>Erebus remains very much in a rebuilding phase.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan\u2019s short-term focus is on putting in a competitive showing at the Bathurst 1000, but said the ultimate goal is to return to championship contention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI liked \u201923 better when we were competitive at every track, but those years don\u2019t always come when you\u2019re a team that gets poached [from] all the time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can\u2019t hide behind that. We\u2019re a little team that got to the top and everybody tried to steal everybody off us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019ll happen again, but we\u2019re trying to build it back up.
