\n The 25-year-old lost in the 60kg quarter-final to Wales\u2019 Owain Harris-Allan via a unanimous decision.\n<\/p>\n
\n One of the fives judges awarded him the first round and then the second round but all of them ruled in Harris-Allan\u2019s favour at the end. Devlin had no qualms with the decision and said he let himself down.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI just couldn’t get going in there,\u201d he said. \u201cIt’s obviously disappointing because the performances leading into this had been good and I really wanted to get a medal for Scotland, but it just wasn’t meant to be.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI’ve been here before and I’ll come again.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Elsewhere, there was further Scottish heartache as Melrose\u2019s Lara Brown was outclassed by defending champion Michaela Walsh in the featherweight 57kg quarter-finals.\n<\/p>\n
\n Brown, a Lance Corporal in the British Army, also unanimously against the veteran Belfast slugger, who is the heavy favourite for gold.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cGoing into, I knew how hard it would be to fight a boxer of Michaela\u2019s class and it have done the best I can. I have no complaints and I am proud of myself,\u201d she said.\n<\/p>\n
