For 21 grueling years, Azerbaijani-Russian sensation Elbek Alyshov has poured his heart and soul into martial arts.

However, the true motivation pushing him through the daily grind isn’t the intoxicating allure of fame, legacy, or even the glimmer of 26 pounds of ONE Championship gold. It is a profoundly simple vision: putting a permanent roof over his family’s head.

That quiet but incredibly powerful purpose will be front and center when the undefeated challenger faces reigning ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion “The Tormentor” Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu at The Inner Circle 24.

The massive World Title showdown broadcasts live in Asia primetime on Friday, July 31, from Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium, exclusively for subscribers at live.onefc.com.

Ahead of the defining moment of his career, Alyshov spoke with genuine honesty about the life-changing dream that could permanently transform the trajectory of his loved ones’ lives.

A House, A Family, A Dream

At the absolute pinnacle of mixed martial arts, fighters are typically consumed by a selfish desire for fame and personal glory. Alyshov’s internal fire, however, burns on a completely different plane, fueled not by athletic legacy, but by an immediate, deeply human necessity.

The true weight he carries into the ring belongs entirely to his family, with every grueling round of training serving a singular mission to provide them with the financial security they have always lacked.

The 27-year-old shared:

“I have dreams. My family does not have a house, and I would like to help my entire family and the people close to me. Not only my family, I would like to help people in general.”

That profound sense of responsibility extends far beyond his own household, driven by a deep desire to uplift everyone in his orbit. His high-stakes World Title clash with Baatarkhuu represents the absolute peak of his life’s work, merging his athletic dreams with a purely charitable heart.

He said:

“I am fighting for something greater, and this moment would truly mean so much to me. That is why I try never to give up in life, because I believe you must love and fight to the very last drop.”

Strength From Above

For Alyshov, the selfless desire to fight for others runs vastly deeper than simple athletic discipline.

His humble mindset was forged long before his martial arts journey even began, firmly anchored by early religious ideals that continue to serve as his ultimate source of power inside the ring.

The Team Chingiz Allazov representative noted:

“As a child, I was inspired by great warriors and their stories. In my religion, Islam, I was also inspired by stories of sacred warriors who were willing to overcome hardships through self-sacrifice and nobility.”

Those ancient tales fundamentally shaped his core values, which in turn produced a peerless, undefeated fighter. Stripped of all ego, he views his devastating physical abilities simply as tools entrusted to him by a higher power, leaving him operating with pure, unadulterated gratitude.

He added:

“But overall, I believe it all comes from God, from the Almighty. He gave me certain strengths, and I am deeply grateful to Him for my health and for the opportunity to fulfill my potential.”

A Silent Prayer Answered

Operating with that quiet humility, Alyshov simply trusted that his relentless hard work would eventually pay off upon reaching the world’s largest martial arts organization.

He quickly showcased his immense talents on the global stage, earning his World Title shot through scintillating, back-to-back submission victories over fierce Filipino contenders Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw and Carlo “The Bull” Bumina-ang.

Despite those emphatic finishes, the rapid arrival of a World Championship opportunity still caught him completely off guard. For someone so accustomed to quietly laboring in the shadows, stepping into the sudden, blinding glare of a shot at the gold inspired pure disbelief.

Alyshov admitted:

“Honestly, I didn’t expect it. And it is truly very gratifying and very valuable to me that ONE Championship gave me this opportunity, this chance to change my life and my family’s life. I have worked for this for so many years.”

For A Nation Still Waiting For Its Champion

While his immediate, driving focus remains on providing for his loved ones, Alyshov fully embraces the historic weight of a watching nation.

He hopes to reward his steadfast supporters by following the groundwork laid by former ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Chingiz “Chinga” Allazov and become Azerbaijan’s very first ONE World Champion in mixed martial arts.

The challenger said:

“For Azerbaijan, having a new MMA world champion in ONE Championship would be hugely significant. Throughout my entire journey, so many fans and supporters have stood by me.”

With MMA rapidly developing across Azerbaijan, an entire generation of young athletes is desperately searching for proof that global supremacy is absolutely possible.

Ultimately, Alyshov doesn’t view victory as the culmination of his own story, but rather as a selfless catalyst ready to ignite a fire far larger than himself.

He offered:

“MMA is also developing rapidly in Azerbaijan right now. This would be an enormous step forward for its growth and a great source of motivation for the younger generation.”

For 21 grueling years, Azerbaijani-Russian sensation Elbek Alyshov has poured his heart and soul into martial arts.
