Ted Lasso is back on our screens next week and with the release of the trailer just a couple of days ago, excitement for the new instalment is at a glorious high.

The trailer marked the heartwarming return of Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and some of the show’s beloved favourites like Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple).

This time around, Ted will be turning his attention to coaching the AFC Richmond Women’s Team, with Sudeikis previously confirming that news in an episode of the New Heights podcast.

Waddingham recently teased that fans should be very excited about the new episodes, telling Radio Times during an exclusive interview that: “The writing just continues to excel like it always has, and we have our Lady Greyhounds!”

The announcement was made in April 2026 and was accompanied by a brand-new image from the upcoming season, which you can see above.

What will Ted Lasso season 4 be about?

As mentioned above, the new season will see Ted return to AFC Richmond to coach the women’s team – who have been languishing below their potential.

The official synopsis reads: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team.

“Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would. “

In February, Hannah Waddingham told Deadline that the new season would be “a whole different deal” and that she “can’t wait for everyone to see what they’ve come up with”.

Ellie Taylor, who played Sassy in a recurring role across all three seasons, previously said she has “absolutely no idea” about the future of the series and whether she will be involved, but confirmed that she would “love to be”.
