\n\tTom Holland<\/a> is swinging back into theaters this weekend as Peter Parker in \u201cSpider-Man<\/a>: Brand New Day,\u201d but a plan is already being laid out for his replacement. The actor has been vocal in past interviews<\/a> about wanting to be directly involved in passing the baton to his Spider-Man successor, but he revealed in a new interview on the \u201cHappy Sad Confused\u201d podcast that a plan is already taking shape behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s a whole plan that we have been working on for, I would say, since we finished\u00a0\u2018Spider-Man: No Way Home,’\u201d Holland said, revealing succession plans have been in the works for five years. \u201cIt\u2019s laid out. It\u2019s gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it\u2019s really exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhether or not the next Spider-Man is Miles Morales or another character remains to be seen. Holland told the AP<\/a>\u00a0on the \u201cBrand New Day\u201d press tour that he has a \u201cdesire to bring Miles Morales to the screen\u201d and to \u201cshepherd the lucky young kid who gets that job.\u201d Morales currently graces the big screen in Sony\u2019s animated \u201cSpider-Verse\u201d franchise, which comes to an end next summer with \u201cSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.\u201d Wrapping up the animated franchise could open the door for Sony to move Miles Morales into live-action alongside Holland\u2019s Peter. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor whoever\u2019s next, whether that is a Miles Morales or a Spider-Gwen or a Spider-Woman or something like that, I would love to be a part of setting up the next chapter,\u201d Holland also told Empire<\/a> earlier this year. \u201cWhatever that looks like, I don\u2019t know. But if I could do what [Robert Downey Jr.] did for me, then I would be so content swinging off into the sunset.\u201d<\/p>\n
