With Deebo Samuel reportedly returning to the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year deal worth up to $7 million, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport<\/a>, the question now turns to where veteran free agents like Tyreek Hill and Stefon Diggs could land for the 2026 season. <\/p>\n

The main answer for Diggs appears to be the Washington Commanders as they look to add more weapons for dynamic young quarterback Jayden Daniels. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported over the weekend that the Commanders were “intriguing” to Diggs.<\/p>\n

Fowler also noted that as many as five teams were showing interest in Diggs. As for which teams would make sense, contenders who could use another option on the outside or rebuilding teams with young quarterbacks in need of playmakers to aid in their development would make sense. <\/p>\n

It’s unclear if bridges were burnt beyond repair in Buffalo, but they would make sense as one of contender examples. The Las Vegas Raiders aren’t exactly brimming with weapons at wideout, and a player like Diggs could help ease Fernando Mendoza’s eventual transition to the starting gig (much as he aided Drake Maye last season). <\/p>\n

It’s a bit trickier trying to find natural landing spots for Hill given the uncertainty over when he’ll actually be recovered from last year’s devastating, season-ending knee injury. He posted a workout video<\/a> last week and said he still has “no power” in his left leg.<\/p>\n

“Where I’m at right now, I’m doing tempo,” he said. “I’m not supposed to be doing tempo runs, so don’t tell my rehab, but I like to challenge myself a little bit. Anyways, I’m doing some push-offs with my left leg. My left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg at all, so I’m trying to regain all of the power back in my left leg. I’ve been activating the quads, the glutes, the hamstrings, the calves. I’ve been doing all of the stability work, all of the mobility work that I need to get my knee back right. But it’s one day at a time.”<\/p>\n

At this point, Hill is trending toward being a midseason signing, meaning we should have a better idea of which teams may be in need of his services after training camp or sometime in the first half of the 2026 campaign.
