Last year, Supercars added Friday afternoon races to three of its events \u2013 Sydney, Townsville and Adelaide. Darwin joined that list this year.<\/p>\n

This weekend\u2019s Perth Super440 features three races across Saturday and Sunday \u2013 beginning with a pair of 120km races before a 200km feature.<\/p>\n

Ironically, Wanneroo Raceway would be the perfect venue for a Friday afternoon sprint thanks to the two-hour time difference to the east coast.<\/p>\n

The Friday race format comes with its challenges, though, giving teams just one practice session to sort their car setup before qualifying.<\/p>\n

Reynolds reckons it hasn\u2019t helped Team 18 get on top of his Chevrolet Camaro.<\/p>\n

\u201cI personally hate racing on Friday,\u201d said the 2017 Bathurst 1000 winner.<\/p>\n

\u201cNormally we turn up on Friday, we have a couple of practices, it\u2019s relaxed, easing ourselves into the weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut if we race on a Friday we\u2019ve got to turn up and there\u2019s a gun to our head and we\u2019ve got to qualify and race and it\u2019s all way too hectic.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s probably good as a spectator, so you get an extra race on another day, but it\u2019s just a hectic three days of stress and anxiety and everything instead of having a nice Friday and worrying about the weekend after that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s just my personal take.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reynolds is only 15th in the drivers\u2019 championship and more than 200 points behind 10th placed\u00a0Jack Le Brocq.<\/p>\n

The Supercars veteran is still searching for his victory of the season, while teammate Anton De Pasquale has won twice.<\/p>\n

Reynolds, who has just two top five finishes this season, offered some optimism before the weekend began at Wanneroo Raceway.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s up and down on my side,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen my car\u2019s good, I feel like I\u2019m at the front, and when it\u2019s not, I feel like I\u2019m off the pace, and that\u2019s just motor racing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like on the car #18 side, they\u2019ve been more on top of their setup than my side of the garage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s racing, that\u2019s what we do. When we get it right, I think we\u2019re in with a chance.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwelve months ago we learned a lot about our car at this track. Hopefully we can start with that base setup we finished with and we\u2019ll have a really good round.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll things considered, we should be okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Supercars practice at Wanneroo Raceway gets underway on Friday at 5:00pm AEST.<\/p>\n
