{"id":835593,"date":"2026-07-31T12:22:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T12:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/835593\/"},"modified":"2026-07-31T12:22:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T12:22:12","slug":"premiair-racing-rookie-jayden-ojeda-talks-supercars-finals-series-chances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/835593\/","title":{"rendered":"PremiAir Racing rookie Jayden Ojeda talks Supercars finals series chances"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1544-Jayden-Ojeda\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">JAYDEN Ojeda<\/a> is striving to become the second rookie in as many years to make Supercars\u2019 finals series, but says that prospect is not altering his approach in any way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The standout of the five first-year drivers in the field, Ojeda has ridden a midseason run of consistent results to climb to 12th in the standings, putting him within 126 points of the finals cut line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He\u2019s made a good start to this weekend\u2019s Perth Super440 too, topping opening practice and placing eighth in the second session today on what was his 27th birthday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJust the shift in momentum has probably been the big thing,\u201d Ojeda told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI feel like we showed flashes of it throughout the first part of the year but could just never put the weekend together, or I made a mistake or whatever which derailed the momentum for the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI look back at the last few weekends now and each weekend has been a little bit of a step forward from the previous weekend, which has been good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/2026-repco-bathurst-1000-official-program?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2026-bathurst-1000-program.jpg\"\/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBetween me and the team, we\u2019re obviously a lot more comfortable with each other. Working with Gilly (engineer Andrew Gilliam) has been great.
