But it was the exception rather than the norm among Apple\u2019s system apps.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When iOS 27 <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/06\/08\/ios-27-release-date-when-next-major-iphone-update-is-coming\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1047043\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">arrives this fall<\/a> though, it will bring the biggest expansion of landscape support ever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As such, it provides a compelling new reason to opt for a larger iPhone screen size.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New in iOS 27, landscape mode is now available in the following apps:<\/p>\n<p>Find My<\/p>\n<p>Fitness<\/p>\n<p>Health<\/p>\n<p>Home<\/p>\n<p>Music (player only)<\/p>\n<p>Podcasts (player only)<\/p>\n<p>Shortcuts<\/p>\n<p>Weather<\/p>\n<p>and more<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/ios-27-shortcuts-landscape.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1062974\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These join the previously supported apps like Messages, Notes, Mail, Safari, and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Landscape mode is technically usable on iPhones with smaller displays. But if you want to get the most out of it, larger iPhone models are the way to go.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve historically favored iPhones with smaller screens. I loved the iPhone mini, for example, and until <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/10\/22\/iphone-air-after-one-month-apples-first-early-adopter-model\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1024885\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">switching to iPhone Air<\/a> last year, I always opted for the smaller iPhone Pro, not the Pro Max.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But with iOS 27, larger models like iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Ultra have a new advantage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By bringing landscape to more apps, Apple is giving iPhones with larger screens a great horizontal experience, with sidebar layouts and other optimizations that don\u2019t feel too cramped to be useful.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Will landscape mode\u2019s expansion in iOS 27 make a difference in your next iPhone model?
