Glee star Kevin McHale angrily called out fans who say the show is cursed following the deaths of three main cast members.<\/p>\n
The 38-year-old actor, who played Artie Abrams, went off in a post<\/a> on X, reports Page Six<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLet me log off today because the way too many of you talk about real people who have passed as a \u2018sacrifice\u2019 or a \u2018curse\u2019 in regards to a tv show is f***ing diabolical and untethered from any sort of humanity or reality,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cGet f***ed,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Fans supported him in the comments, with one user writing, \u201cIt\u2019s a reminder that real tragedies aren\u2019t plot devices. Turning someone\u2019s death into \u2018proof\u2019 of a curse or a TV show\u2019s mythology can erase the fact that they were actual people with families, friends, and lives beyond the entertainment people consumed.\u201d<\/p>\n Another comment reads, \u201cI cannot even fathom what that\u2019s like when you and your other cast members have lost your sweet friends the way you have. People act like what it said on the internet doesn\u2019t affect people in real life. It makes me sad.\u201d<\/p>\n Three cast members on the show \u2014 Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Naya Rivera \u2014 have died.<\/p>\n Monteith died in July 2013<\/a> at 31 years old. The Canadian actor was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room, with the coroner later ruling his death as accidental and caused by using intravenous heroin combined with alcohol.<\/p>\n Salling died<\/a> in January 2018 at 35 years old, a month after he pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. His death was ruled a suicide.<\/p>\n Rivera tragically died<\/a> in July 2020 at 33 years old, and her death was ruled a drowning. Rivera used all her strength to push her then 4-year-old son, Josey, back on their pontoon boat they rented on Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, after it drifted.<\/p>\n Though she was able to save her son\u2019s life, she didn\u2019t have the energy to save herself, Ventura County Sheriff William Ayub said in a press conference at the time.<\/p>\n Talk about Glee, which aired for six seasons between 2009 and 2015, has revived after co-creator Ryan Murphy told People<\/a> on Tuesday he has considered rebooting the show.<\/p>\n \u201cThat show is interesting because it\u2019s come back around,\u201d he reflected. \u201cSo many young people now watch it. And I\u2019m like, \u2018Maybe we should revisit that show.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy nostalgia and love for that show is enough that I\u2019m like, \u2018Well, maybe people would like to see a new incarnation of that in some capacity,\u2019\u201d he continued. \u201cSo yeah, I love that show and I loved what it became and what it meant to so many people.\u201d<\/p>\n Glee also starred Lea Michele, Darren Criss, Dianna Agron, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Heather Morris, Jenna Ushkowitz, Harry Shum Jr. and Chord Overstreet \u2014 to name a few.<\/p>\n The musical dramedy won six Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.<\/p>\n
