{"id":837295,"date":"2026-08-01T07:13:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T07:13:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/837295\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T07:13:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T07:13:15","slug":"supercars-perth-race-23-results-matt-payne-winner-brodie-kostecki-clashes-with-kai-allen-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/837295\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars Perth: Race 23 results, Matt Payne winner, Brodie Kostecki clashes with Kai Allen, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A CHAOTIC Perth Super440 has continued, headlined by a high-profile clash between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2726-Kai-Allen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kai Allen<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1301-Brodie-Kostecki\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brodie Kostecki<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ford duo had duelled for some time before coming to blows at the start of Lap 39 while squabbling over fourth place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The flashpoint came in the braking zone to Turn 1 as Kostecki defended against Allen, with ensuing contact spinning the #17 Shell Mustang into the sand where it would remain until being retrieved under Safety Car conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allen was cleared by Race Control of wrongdoing, allowing him to press on, while Kostecki finished last.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI mean Brodie was blocking for quite some while and Kai had overlap, so at some point when the car is up the inside and you keep closing the door in the middle of the braking zone, that\u2019s what happens,\u201d said Penrite Racing CEO Brenton Grove.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMaybe a lesson for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Polesitter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2716-Matt-Payne\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matt Payne<\/a>, who was beaten off the line by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-58-Cam-Waters\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cam Waters<\/a>, survived the restart to take victory.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/RGP_Perth_25A1834-1024x577.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-260835\"  \/>Matt Payne leads from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2748-Ryan-Wood\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Wood<\/a>.
