{"id":838628,"date":"2026-08-01T22:33:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T22:33:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/838628\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T22:33:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T22:33:14","slug":"super2-news-matt-chahda-motorsport-fined-for-unapproved-testing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/838628\/","title":{"rendered":"Super2 news: Matt Chahda Motorsport fined for unapproved testing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MATT Chahda Motorsport has been fined after a hearing regarding unapproved testing of its two Super2 cars.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The matter relates to a visit to Winton Motor Raceway on July 21 for stalwart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1233-Matt-Chahda\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matt Chahda<\/a> and recruit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-3030-Lincoln-Taylor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lincoln Taylor<\/a>, and appears to be more about protocols than anything untoward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fine of $10,000 has been issued, half of which is suspended until December 31 this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe team decided to test at Winton Raceway to familiarise the Drivers with the Cars,\u201d read a stewards report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Team Representative, Amin Chahda admitted the breach but submitted that no performance enhancing testing was performed. Pic: Ross Gibb<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMr Chahda submitted that he had attempted to seek Supercars approval through the portal, but accepted that he realised that the application had not been successfully lodged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNotification was required to be given pursuant to Rule D1.2 at least 5 working days before the proposed testing and the Team accepted that the first attempt at notification was through the portal on 20 July 2026, the day before the testing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOther than familiarisation of the Drivers with the Cars, Supercars allege no sporting advantage as a result of the testing. Supercars do not allege any safety issues arising from the testing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSupercars points to the importance of the system which controls and monitors testing and the sporting and safety issues which can emerge if testing is not controlled and monitored according to the Rules.
