But at the same time, words from my brother and my coach will be, always, \u2018We don\u2019t care about what anybody else thinks.\u2019 It\u2019s me in there fighting. I\u2019m the one that\u2019s in there to only kind of think about the boos for one second and get knocked out.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo for me, it\u2019s like, I don\u2019t want them to boo, because I want to be exciting and entertaining for you guys, but at the same time, I\u2019m in there fighting. I\u2019m not in there, like, performing a dance. So, I have to do what\u2019s right for me to get the win and come out on top, and that\u2019s what I did today.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ditcheva certainly did that, sweeping all three judges\u2019 scorecards after out-working Kielholtz for 15 minutes. And though the lack of a finish was disappointing, Ditcheva is trying to take the positives away from her fight.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got a good three rounds out of the fight,\u201d Ditcheva said. \u201cI\u2019ve been out for a long time, so it\u2019s good experience for me. My coaches are happy, because it\u2019s valuable time in the cage that I need as an athlete and a fighter in order to keep progressing. First-round finishes are really good, and what we aim for, but at the same time, those minutes in the cage are what are gonna teach me the most. So, we\u2019re taking that from it and moving to the next one.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cnext one\u201d appears to be a matchup with PFL champion Liz Carmouche. The two have seemingly been on a collision course for years, and now it finally seems to be the time for that to happen. But if that\u2019s not the case, whoever Ditcheva fights next, she feels better prepared for the match after Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just felt I was patient and comfortable,\u201d Ditcheva said. \u201cI\u2019m not rushing. I\u2019m trying to evolve as an athlete. I\u2019m trying to see things a lot better. I don\u2019t want to just be this fighter that is just throwing for the sake of it. I want to be able to see things, take my time, slip shots. I\u2019m trying to evolve my game, and getting in a fight is not just a case of going wild. It\u2019s a sport that is very calculated.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, I feel like today I was really patient, which is something that I worked on in my camp. I want to be able to not feel like I\u2019ve got to rush and stop a fight, and quickly scramble or anything like that. I want to be able to slip and roll \u2014 I want it to look pretty!
