{"id":840600,"date":"2026-08-02T21:59:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-02T21:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/840600\/"},"modified":"2026-08-02T21:59:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-02T21:59:09","slug":"former-wallaroo-mines-primary-school-principal-tamarin-condon-cleared-of-misconduct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/840600\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Wallaroo Mines Primary School principal Tamarin Condon cleared of &#8216;misconduct&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">A South Australian school principal has been cleared of &#8220;misconduct&#8221; by the Education Department after being abruptly stood down from her job.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\"><a class=\"Link_link__kR0xA Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2025-11-05\/wallaroo-mines-primary-school-principal-stood-down\/105974324\" data-component=\"Link\" data-uri=\"coremedia:\/\/article\/105974324\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">In November, the department suspended Tamarin Condon from her position<\/a> as principal of Wallaroo Mines Primary School in Kadina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Before she was stood down, Ms Condon was the subject of a petition circulated online which called on the department to &#8220;urgently review&#8221; her leadership and expressed concerns about alleged &#8220;unprofessional behaviour&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">At the time, then-education minister Blair Boyer confirmed reports she had invited her husband, Simon Condon, to assist at a school camp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Mr Condon had worked as a student support officer but was not employed by the school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">In a brief statement, a Department spokesperson said:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;The Department for Education has concluded its investigation. No misconduct was identified.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;A new Principal has been appointed to Wallaroo Mines Primary School.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;For privacy reasons, we do not intend to comment further about this matter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The department said it could not comment on what lines of inquiry were pursued during their investigation, citing privacy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The ABC reported in December that parents said <a class=\"Link_link__kR0xA Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2025-12-04\/wallaroo-mines-primary-principal-camp-photos-investigation\/106074630\" data-component=\"Link\" data-uri=\"coremedia:\/\/article\/106074630\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Department for Education officials had quizzed students who attended the camp about Ms Condon&#8217;s behaviour<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">At the time, two parents said they had spoken to SA Police, and a police spokesperson confirmed they were aware of the matter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;There is no police investigation at this time.
