{"id":841184,"date":"2026-08-03T05:11:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T05:11:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/841184\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T05:11:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T05:11:14","slug":"mclaughlin-locked-in-for-suzuka-1000km-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/841184\/","title":{"rendered":"McLaughlin locked in for Suzuka 1000km return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SUPERCARS champion turned IndyCar star Scott McLaughlin is returning for another crack at the Suzuka 1000km.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McLaughlin paired up with Nicky Catsburg and Alexander Sims to place outright third in the Japanese enduro last year aboard a Johor Motorsports Racing Corvette Z06 GT3.R.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be that same combination of drivers, team and car again this September 12-14.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m so excited to get back with the team at JMR. Their operation is absolutely first-class and last year I had a real blast trying to win a race with such great people,\u201d said McLaughlin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSuzuka was one of my favourite races last year, so I can\u2019t wait to get back there with JMR, Nicky and Alex, and push for the win in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/2026-repco-bathurst-1000-official-program?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2026-bathurst-1000-program.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Corvette Racing program manager Andrea Hidalgo said: \u201cIt\u2019s very exciting to see JMR step up again to the Pro class at the Suzuka 1000km with Alexander, Nicky and Scott in the Corvette Z06 GT3.R.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey are three world-class drivers, and everyone at Corvette Racing and our fans are looking forward to watching them go up against the best GT teams and drivers on the Intercontinental GT Challenge\u2019s global stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJMR\u2019s success \u2013 four race wins in less than two years \u2013 with the Corvette has been impressive; we\u2019re extremely proud of the success from Prince Jefri, Prince Abu Bakar and the whole JMR team, and can\u2019t wait to see how both entries perform at Suzuka.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JMR\u2019s second entry will compete in Pro-Am, shared by the aforementioned royal Malaysian brothers plus Ben Green.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McLaughlin is eighth in the IndyCar standings two-thirds of the way through the season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SUPERCARS champion turned IndyCar star Scott McLaughlin is returning for another crack at the Suzuka 1000km.
