\u201cIt\u2019s funny, that knee-jerk reaction in this day and age for everyone to immediately ask about a sequel,\u201d Robbie \u2013 whose production company LuckyChap Entertainment co-produced Barbie \u2013 told Variety back in 2024 after its release. \u201cI don\u2019t think it was like that 20 years ago. This wasn\u2019t designed to be a trilogy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything went into Barbie \u2013 and that\u2019s how Greta works,\u201d Robbie added. \u201cShe finishes every movie on empty, feeling like she could never make another movie because she put everything she had into that one. So I don\u2019t know what it would take to fill that cup up again for her. Or for us. I think Warners would also agree.
