They last played doubles together at the 2022 US Open, where they lost to Czechs Lucie Hradecka and Linda Noskova.

Last month, the sisters had to withdraw from the doubles at Wimbledon as Serena, 44, dealt with a knee injury.

The American’s highly anticipated return to grand slam tennis after four years away was ended at Wimbledon in a first-round loss to Australian youngster Maya Joint in the singles.

Venus, 46, has received a singles wildcard for the August 11 to 23 tournament in Cincinnati.

Serena is a 23-time singles grand slam champion and regarded among the sport’s most dominant performers ever.

She effectively retired from tennis after being bundled out of the 2022 US Open singles draw by Aussie player Ajla Tomljanovic.

Williams shocked the sporting world late last year when she suddenly re-entered the world doping pool, meaning drug testers could demand a test from her at any time.

The move was the first step in her remarkable comeback to the court, which officially happened at Wimbledon.

It is unknown if Serena will attempt to contest the US Open singles draw.

Serena Williams and Venus Williams are set to make their Cincinnati Open doubles debut this month after being…

[565
64,63,85,747
post-842894","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tennis","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-sports","tag-tennis
["GET
