Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow<\/a><\/p>\n CCTV footage obtained by 7NEWS shows a white Toyota Tarago striking the pair before crashing into two cars on the opposite side of The Boulevarde, sending the pedestrians flying.<\/p>\n Pamungkas was treated at the scene before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.<\/p>\n She was placed in an induced coma in intensive care, where she remained for several days before dying about 8pm on Monday, NSW Police<\/a> said.<\/p>\n Her husband, Agung Purwanto, says he wants to confront the 82-year-old driver.<\/p>\n \u201cI just want to say something to him. Like, why? Just why?\u201d he told 7NEWS.\u00a0<\/p>\n Purwanto said the last message he received from his wife was a text saying she was going to buy groceries and vegetables for dinner.<\/p>\n She had planned to cook for their 13-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter that evening.<\/p>\n Instead, about 3.30pm, Purwanto received a call from his daughter\u2019s school to say no one had arrived to pick her up.<\/p>\n He immediately jumped in an Uber to collect his daughter before receiving another phone call telling him his wife had been taken to hospital.<\/p>\n He described the days that followed at her bedside as a nightmare.<\/p>\n Pamungkas died surrounded by her family.<\/p>\n Her employer, Bellavita Cafe owner Rashed Sikder, remembered her as the \u201ctop of the top\u201d and said she never let him down.<\/p>\n \u201cShe is like my sister, honestly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cEverything in my shop I got, it\u2019s her touch.<\/p>\n \u201cShe did everything perfect for me and I used to have one day off just because of her. And when she went back to Indonesia, I was struggling.\u201d<\/p>\n Sikder said customers had also been devastated by the tragedy.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone loves her more than me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Purwanto\u2019s workplace, Dick\u2019s Hotel in Balmain, also paid tribute to Pamungkas in a social media post.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are heartbroken to share that Nurhayati has sadly passed away,\u201d the pub said.<\/p>\n \u201cAgung, our head chef, and their two children were by her side, but her injuries were just too severe.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease keep Agung and his family in your thoughts as they begin to navigate life without their beautiful wife and mum.\u201d<\/p>\n The hotel\u2019s owner Elia Economou launched a GoFundMe<\/a> to support the family.<\/p>\n He said Pamungkas had been doing \u201cwhat most parents do every day\u201d before her life was turned upside down.<\/p>\n \u201cIn a matter of seconds, the life she and her husband Agung had worked so hard to build was turned upside down,\u201d Economou wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cMany people know Agung as the much-loved chef from Dick\u2019s Hotel and Apache Salut, where he has quietly looked after people through food, smiles and friendship for more than five years.\u201d<\/p>\n The hotel also thanked everyone who had donated to the fundraiser.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the midst of unimaginable grief, your kindness has been overwhelming. Together you have raised nearly $50,000,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe can\u2019t thank you enough for every donation and message. It truly means the world.\u201d<\/p>\n 7NEWS understands the other pedestrian, a 64-year-old man, had attended midday prayers at Lakemba Mosque and was walking home when he was struck.<\/p>\n He remains on life support at St George Hospital.<\/p>\n The driver, an 82-year-old man, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for mandatory testing and further assessment.<\/p>\n He is yet to be charged. <\/p>\n Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n![\"She](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/fe942103a71e6463cfecaaecde2eaf66d808b877.png\")
