Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer doesn\u2019t appear too worried about Micah Parsons\u2019 Week 1 availability.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With a contract dispute ongoing between the star pass rusher and the Cowboys, Schottenheimer told reporters he\u2019s confident Parsons will play when Dallas takes on its division rival on Sept. 4 \u2013 contract extension or not.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel good that Micah will be out there against the Philadelphia Eagles,\u201d Schottenheimer told reporters Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Schottenheimer\u2019s comments come one day after ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter posited that the Parsons-Cowboys partnership was \u201cheaded towards divorce\u201d after the relationship deteriorated throughout the offseason.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t get a deal done if you\u2019re not even talking, and the two sides haven\u2019t had any negotiations since late March or early April, and it sounds like at this point it\u2019s personal,\u201d Schefter said on his self-titled podcast on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Parsons, a four-time Pro Bowler, has been seeking a new deal this offseason as he enters the final year of his rookie contract.<\/p>\n

When Cowboys training camp opened earlier this summer, Dallas owner Jerry Jones took a shot at the star defensive end over the contract stalemate<\/a>, jabbing him for missing multiple games last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Parsons then announced on social media that he no longer wants to play for Dallas<\/a>, as the club has yet to contact his agent after Parsons and Jones discussed a new deal in March.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately I no longer want to be here,\u201d wrote Parsons. \u201cI no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization our fans and my teammates\u2026 I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Jones wasn\u2019t as confident<\/a> as Schottenheimer that Parsons would be in uniform for the Cowboys against the Eagles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, absolutely not,\u201d Jones responded when he was asked if he was confident that Parsons would play Week 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cA big part of that is his decision. How would I know that? I\u2019m just saying.
