Ryan Garcia doesn\u2019t think fans turned on him just because he showed up on the\u00a0July 27 episode of WWE RAW<\/a>. The boxer believes WWE gave him the wrong segment.<\/p>\n

After his surprise appearance alongside The Judgment Day led to criticism from fans<\/a> and didn\u2019t go over well backstage, Garcia has finally addressed the reaction\u2014and he thinks things would\u2019ve played out very differently if WWE had used him another way. Speaking with ESNews<\/a>, Garcia admitted he wasn\u2019t happy with how he was presented during his one-off appearance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish they would have given me a better segment, because then I wouldn\u2019t have gotten as much hate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garcia added that he isn\u2019t losing sleep over the criticism and is staying focused on his boxing career instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand why people are trying to take me down\u2026 I let people talk\u2026 Here\u2019s the thing, f*** what they think.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comments are notable given everything that followed his July 27 appearance on RAW. Rather than making a quick celebrity cameo, Garcia got physically involved in the show\u2019s closing angle, smashing Joe Hendry with a guitar before helping Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh leave Hendry, Danhausen and the Minihausens laid out ahead of SummerSlam.<\/p>\n

The segment immediately divided fans, and the criticism wasn\u2019t limited to social media. Following the appearance, WrestleVotes was asked whether Garcia would be back in WWE and gave a blunt response<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, absolutely not. A lot of people did not like that. If something doesn\u2019t get over with the locker room, they\u2019re not gonna redo it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garcia, however, believes the issue wasn\u2019t him\u2014it was the creative. Instead of getting a celebrity moment similar to the high-profile WWE appearances made by Floyd Mayweather over the years, Garcia says he was put in a segment that only fueled the backlash.<\/p>\n

Whether WWE sees it the same way remains unknown, but if Garcia\u2019s comments are any indication, he believes his debut would\u2019ve been received very differently had the company taken another creative approach.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
