{"id":844182,"date":"2026-08-05T08:20:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T08:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/844182\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T08:20:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T08:20:16","slug":"aasa-race-series-scraps-tv-coverage-for-fight-in-the-night-and-other-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/844182\/","title":{"rendered":"AASA Race Series scraps TV coverage for Fight in the Night and other events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THE new-look AASA Race Series will run without televised coverage going forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The national motorsport platform formerly known as the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series will begin its new era next week at Queensland Raceway, August 14-16.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A rebranding occurred last week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/aasa-issues-statement-on-super-series-rebranding\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">following a mid-season transition of promoting responsibilities from Hi-Tec Oils Motorsport Pty Ltd to go back in-house at AASA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s worth noting that AASA is currently being operated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/aasa-sold-by-benalla-auto-club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the four-pronged consortium which has claimed ownership of the sanctioning body<\/a>, while long-time custodian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/aasa-sale-disputed-by-benalla-auto-club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Benalla Auto Club fights to be reinstated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enthusiast Motor Insurance has come onboard as major sponsor for the QR event dubbed \u2018Fight in the Night\u2019 but the platform\u2019s television package has been ceased.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/v8-sleuth-magazine-issue-5?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sleuth-mag-issue-5-2.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Super Series broadcast had previously been produced by AVE and aired both on Kayo Sports and free-to-air via SBS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Competitors have been notified that will be ditched in favour of a livestream \u201cfor the remainder of 2026 and beyond\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AASA has sold the change as moving with the times, but some stakeholders are known to be displeased with the sudden inability to fulfil obligations from a TV perspective (given the potential for it to affect full-season sponsorship arrangements).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is not yet clear which company will be engaged to produce the livestream coverage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Categories on the Fight in the Night bill include the Australian Endurance Championship, TA2 Muscle Car Series, IRC Racing Series, Australian Formula Ford Championship, Legend Cars Australia and Formula RX8.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond QR, the AASA Race Series is scheduled to visit Winton Motor Raceway on September 25-27 and Calder on November 13-15.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"THE new-look AASA Race Series will run without televised coverage going forward.
