The shock moves follows the breakdown of his proposed bout between Haney and fellow American Keyshawn Davis.<\/p>\n
Should the Haney blockbuster get signed off, it would be Paro\u2019s first defence of the IBF crown won in June, when he upset reigning champion Lewis Crocker in Brisbane.<\/p>\n
Haney, meanwhile, became a three-division world champion last November when he outpointed Brian Norman Jr to capture the WBO strap.<\/p>\n
While the American is also yet to make his first defence of the new strap, he was recently ordered to defend against Davis, his mandatory challenger.<\/p>\n
However, it has this week been revealed Stateside that Davis had withdrawn from negotiations, and amid suggestions he remained unsatisfied with a proposed purse of US$2.13 million.<\/p>\n
Following the breakdown of those talks, there were immediately whispers of a rematch between Haney and Brian Norman Jnr, however the new champ quickly shot those down on social media.<\/p>\n
Haney this week tweeted: \u201cIt\u2019s not happening. I tell you that right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

While another option for Haney could be WBA regular champion Jack Catterall, Fox Sports Australia can reveal talks have now started between No Limit, Australia\u2019s No.1 promoter, and Team Haney for a huge bout in the US.<\/p>\n
Haney, of course, is no stranger to world title showdowns against an Aussie, winning consecutive Melbourne blockbusters against George \u2018Ferocious\u2019 Kambosos four years ago.<\/p>\n
Should he sign off on a Paro fight, the early suggestions are that it would take place in the US.<\/p>\n
More than becoming a two-division world champion this year, Paro also went and earned himself genuine pulling power in a division where the three other champs are American megastars — Haney, Ryan Garcia and Rolly Romero.<\/p>\n
While Paro has also previously spoken of his interest in fighting Manny Pacquiao, a Haney showdown would be easily the biggest fight that can be made for the proud Queenslander.<\/p>\n
Already, fellow Australian star Tim Tszyu has described Paro as one of the nation\u2019s most cerebral fighters, saying: \u201cHe\u2019s just so smart, really intelligent \u2026 and with dynamite in his hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following his win over Crocker, No Limit promoter George Rose also named Paro Australia\u2019s No.1 fighter, given he now joins a shortlist of two-division champions including Jeff Fenech, Danny Green and Anthony Mundine.<\/p>\n
Apart from having won world titles in two divisions since 2024, and inked his name alongside Fenech, Paro has also earned his latest honours it in what is considered boxing\u2019s most glamorous division.<\/p>\n
