BROC Feeney says Triple Eight\u2019s lean winter has made him appreciate just how hard it is to win in Supercars, which only heightened the hurt of his near-miss in Perth.<\/p>\n

Speaking on MotorRacing 360, Feeney spoke with pride at the high standards he and the Triple Eight organisation set for themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know myself, I\u2019m very critical of the person I\u2019m looking at in the mirror,\u201d said the #88 driver, who had to settle for second behind Matt Payne<\/a> on Sunday at Wanneroo.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo when I feel like we\u2019re capable of winning races or getting podiums, I want to make sure we achieve that.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously there was a bit of backlash for saying I was upset after Sunday\u2019s race, but there has been plenty of times where I\u2019m happy with a second or a third. But when you let a win slip, they don\u2019t come around very often and that\u2019s something that I have learnt over the past few months.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we are critical of ourselves, I think that\u2019s what makes this team great, and that\u2019s why I love being a part of it. Everyone holds themselves to such a high standard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Feeney is the most divisive driver in terms of social media reaction. At just 23 years of age, he already has 31 race wins, putting him on a trajectory towards statistical greatness, yet plenty of online critics bristle at the emotion he displays.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know I have got some fantastic fans out there that just love me for being honest, and I was being honest on the weekend,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI suppose maybe some people don\u2019t like that I was upset about coming second, but I\u2019ll try to always be as honest as I can with my fans whether I\u2019m happy or sad.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I said before, I\u2019ve come second plenty of times and been stoked with it because that\u2019s all we\u2019ve been capable of, but when you\u2019re capable of winning and you don\u2019t, it is tough.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe past few months, getting fifth hasn\u2019t been that enjoyable and when you have got a chance of getting that top step of the podium and you miss out, it stung.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team feels that. I was actually stoked to see how gutted Jamie was as well and how upset the rest of the team was, because we know we can do better than that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Feeney offered praise to Grove Racing too, which has taken over the mantle of being the benchmark team in 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve raised the bar, they\u2019re doing a great job,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
