Michael Thorbjornsen is now a PGA Tour winner. With that comes some level of fame, fortune and, of course, pressure. So how does the 24-year-old Rocket Classic winner unwind after a long day grinding on the range? LEGOs \u2026 obviously.<\/p>\n
It used to be that PGA Tour pros would strum a guitar, get into wine or maybe restore an old car in their free time, but the times they are a-changin\u2019. In recent years, LEGOs have become a popular pastime for adult males, but as Thorbjornsen explains, these aren\u2019t the sets you remember from when you were a kid.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a few boxes unopened,\u201d Thorbjornsen told Fore Play. \u201cI have the Milky Way Galaxy, I\u2019ve built an F1 car, I\u2019ve built the Eiffel Tower. With the Eiffel Tower, I\u2019m not sure I recommend it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Why wouldn\u2019t he recommend arguably his biggest LEGO accomplishment to date? Well, because the Lego Eiffel Tower stands nearly five feet tall, includes 10,001 pieces and retails for $629.99.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt took me two weeks to build and the first three days of those two weeks, I worked on it eight hours a day,\u201d Thorbjornsen said.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s not all. Thorbjornsen also has a completed LEGO Titanic in his office that is four-and-a-half feet long, includes over 9,000 pieces and will set you back a cool $679.99, iceberg not included.<\/p>\n
Although Thorbjornsen\u2019s chosen hobby is widely considered to be for kids, clearly it\u2019s anything but. LEGO sets like those Thorbjornsen builds have largely replaced the ship-in-a-bottle and model-car building that kept our grandfathers and fathers occupied long into adulthood. They require vast amounts of focus, commitment and attention to detail. To us, that sounds a lot like golf, the very thing Thorbjornsen turns to LEGOs to escape from, but when it comes to a grown man and his hobbies, to each their own.<\/p>\n
