Richard Madden is set to appear in medical hostage thriller Trauma, which will be released on Paramount+ and Prime Video. Created by Lionsgate Television and 42 Management and Production, the show is created and written by Geoff Bussetil, best known for his work on Skins, Scoop, and Slow Horses.<\/p>\n

A synopsis for Trauma, as reported by Deadline<\/a>, reads: “When terrorists seize a busy London Hospital and take the Prime Minister hostage during surgery, former Royal Marines medic turned ER doctor Jim Marchant (Madden) must fight his way through the building to save everyone inside. <\/p>\n

“As he takes the hospital floor by floor, the balance of power shifts\u2014and the building becomes a deadly battle of strategy, nerve and survival.”<\/p>\n

Trauma is directed by MobLand’s Daniel Syrkin and will be produced by Chrissy Skinns and Chris Kennedy. Madden, Syrkin, Ben Pugh, and Ben Cavey will executive produce.<\/p>\n

Production on the series is set to begin in October, with the rest of the cast yet to be announced. <\/p>\n

The Citadel star will next appear in Netflix series Trinity, created by Line of Duty and Bodyguard’s Jed Mercurio<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The official logline teases: “A heroic female Naval Officer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) becomes involved with the outwardly charismatic Secretary of Defense (Madden), only to discover he may be at the heart of a dangerous conspiracy.”<\/p>\n

In addition to his writing duties, Mercurio will act as showrunner and executive producer. Michael Cuesta has signed on to direct, and also executive produce the first and second episodes.<\/p>\n

Madden reprised his role as Mason Kane in the second season<\/a> of Citadel, which was released earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Madden’s character met his tragic end in the explosive season two finale, being fatally shot by his wife, Abby, who was being controlled by a brain chip.<\/p>\n

Nadia Sinh was also left critically injured in the altercation, but survives and goes on to stop Abby and discover Bernard Orlick’s sinister part in the entire operation.<\/p>\n

As yet, a third season of Citadel has not been announced.<\/p>\n

Trauma has yet to announce a release date. <\/p>\n
