Police are investigating a woman in her 20s accused of smashing YG Entertainment\u2019s glass door with a golf club as backlash over a Blackpink anniversary event intensifies.<\/p>\n

A woman in her 20s was arrested Thursday night after trying to smash a glass door at YG Entertainment\u2019s headquarters in Mapo District, western Seoul, with a golf club.<\/p>\n
A video circulating widely on social media appears to show the woman lunging toward the building\u2019s entrance and repeatedly swinging the club at the glass door.<\/p>\n
The Seoul Mapo Police Station arrested the woman at the scene and is questioning her about the circumstances surrounding the incident and her motive, according to the police on Friday.<\/p>\n
The footage attracted heightened attention as YG already has been facing strong backlash from some Blackpink fans over a meet-and-greet event for the group\u2019s 10th anniversary.<\/p>\n
YG announced Thursday that it would hold the event Saturday, marking 10 years since Blackpink debuted on Aug. 8, 2016.<\/p>\n
Some fans criticized the two-day notice and the event\u2019s limited capacity of 40 people. Applications to the event were also restricted to those with paid fan membership, which some subscribers said had offered little direct participation from the members for over a year. The event notice also did not guarantee that all four members of Blackpink would attend, stating that only those available would take part.<\/p>\n
YG Entertainment, however, confirmed on Friday that all four members will attend the event.<\/p>\n
