Police have launched a public appeal after a Melbourne<\/a> teenager was attacked with a machete and robbed<\/a> of his $10,000 e-bike<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s alleged the then-17-year-old was approached by two men at JW Manson Reserve on Selkirk Avenue in Wantirna about 6.15pm on June 20.<\/p>\n

Victoria Police are appealing for public assistance after a teenage boy was viciously stabbed and had his e-bike stolen in Wantirna in June.\u00a0Victoria Police<\/p>\n

The pair allegedly knocked the teen off his e-bike and slashed his shoulder with a machete as he attempted to run away.<\/p>\n

He managed to reach nearby Selkirk Avenue, where a passerby called Triple Zero<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police said the teen suffered at least three wounds in the attack, needed surgery and spent four days recovering in hospital.<\/p>\n

The offenders allegedly stole his Surron Ultra Bee HP e-bike, valued at about $10,000, along with his phone before fleeing.<\/p>\n

Detectives are still investigating the attack and have released CCTV and images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.<\/p>\n

Detective Acting Inspector Troy Andrews described the alleged attack as \u201cextremely concerning\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis unprovoked and senseless attack on the victim is extremely concerning and completely unacceptable. <\/p>\n

\u201cInvestigators have been working tirelessly in relation to finding those involved and to hold them to account for their actions.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said police would continue patrolling the Knox area.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to assure the Knox community that police are patrolling the community 24\/7, with a sustained presence from local units and the Neighbourhood Policing Unit.\u201d<\/p>\n
