John Fury has appeared to bury the hatchet with Tyson after he accused him of being \u2018past his best\u2019.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old said in April that his relationship with the championship-winning boxer was \u2018destroyed\u2019, and put it down to the nature of the sport<\/a>. <\/p>\n

“Boxing<\/a> destroyed it completely. I’ll say it on camera: I’ve never taken \u00a310 off him in my life and I never will,\u201d the former bare-knuckle fighter told Playbook Boxing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I don’t want Tyson’s money<\/a> and I don’t need Tyson’s money. Whatever he’s got, good luck to him. But don\u2019t forget who built his story when he was a kid. He didn\u2019t build it himself, did he? Me, his father.”<\/p>\n

It now seems that John and Tyson are back on good terms after the dad posted a video of them having a pint together in a pub on 6 August. <\/p>\n

Prince John James Fury, 14, is also seen having a drink with the pair while a person who sounds like Tommy Fury<\/a> is heard behind the camera.<\/p>\n

Back in June, things looked to be getting better between the boxing duo as John gave an update on how things were going.<\/p>\n

When asked how it felt reuniting with Tyson again, he replied: “Yeah, I’m looking forward to it.<\/p>\n

“It’s been a long time, you know, and at the end of the day I’m just trying to get things right with my son what should never have took place in the beginning.<\/p>\n

“But let me tell you, he’s stubborn and I’m stubborn. He’s strong-headed and I am. It’s a good job he doesn’t want to hit me isn’t it because I’d be dead.”<\/p>\n

“He’s my boy isn’t he and I love him and he’s our talisman isn’t he?” John continued.<\/p>\n

“Let me tell you, all this b******* we’re doing here, if it wasn’t for him, there’d be no me, there’d be no Tommy, there’d be no f*** all.<\/p>\n

“It’s the Gypsy King, his achievements, his accolades, what\u2019s brought us to where we are today.<\/p>\n

“Nobody else. And I’m forever in his debt.<\/p>\n

“So whatever s*** he wants to throw my way, I should be able to swallow it, shouldn\u2019t I? But I\u2019m proud, you know, and I get\u2026 my emotions overcome me.”<\/p>\n

‘He wants me to retire’<\/p>\n

Tyson said back in April that he knows that his father ‘just wants the best for me’.<\/p>\n

“He wants me to retire and walk away, but if it was that easy I would have walked away five times before. But I don\u2019t have that ability to let go. It can affect a lot of things, including families,” Tyson said to The Ring. <\/p>\n

“My dad saying he\u2019s not speaking to me \u2013 I suppose he\u2019s trying to encourage me not to fight any more. But fighting\u2019s all I\u2019ve ever known and all I ever will know.”<\/p>\n

Tyson won his comeback fight against Mariusz Wach in Thailand last month as he eyes up a long-awaited match against Anthony Joshua. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll always be a big name,\u201d he told the press conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still feel the best is yet to come. I don\u2019t feel like the world\u2019s seen the best of Tyson Fury yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been over here (Thailand) since December. Beautiful people, beautiful place. I feel at peace with everything whereas before I had a lot of pressure on me.<\/p>\n
