Bryson DeChambeau has boldly claimed he hopes to continue his LIV Golf commitments while also reviving his career on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n
In an interview with the New York Post<\/a>, DeChambeau reiterated his support for LIV and stated that he is feeling \u201c100%\u201d sure about the breakaway league\u2019s seemingly precarious future. DeChambeau led a player meeting at Trump Bedminster \u2013 the site of LIV Golf New York \u2013 on Tuesday, hours before LIV CEO Scott O\u2019Neil announced the league had found an unnamed \u201clead investor\u201d<\/a> which could help them survive. <\/p>\n DeChambeau\u2019s LIV contract is up at the end of the season and speculation has mounted over whether the two-time US Open champion will stay on the league, or even move to full-time content creation outside the four majors. <\/p>\n It seems, though, that DeChambeau still envisages a world where the PGA Tour and LIV co-exist \u2013 and wants to combine his playing schedule on both tours.<\/p>\n \u201cMy ultimate goal is to have golf course stadiums, similar to the PGA Tour\u2019s TPC Sawgrass model, with our teams having their own golf course as a stadium,\u201d DeChambeau told the\u00a0NYP at Bedminster, where he is 8-over par after two rounds. <\/p>\n \u201cPersonally, I\u2019d love to be able to play events on the PGA Tour, too. I think that\u2019s best for golf. I\u2019d love that. It\u2019s not an either\/or mentality. It\u2019s \u2018can we do both?\u2019 I think that\u2019s where everybody wants to be. There isn\u2019t a golf fan on the planet who doesn\u2019t want to see me play a big Tour event, and I get that. I\u2019d love to go play events that make sense, love to play team golf, and love to play wherever they\u2019ll let me.\u201d<\/p>\n DeChambeau has been suspended from the PGA Tour since joining LIV in 2022 and rejected the chance to leave the league behind and rejoin the US circuit via the contrived Returning Members Program<\/a> at the start of this season. <\/p>\n But while retaining his commitment to LIV, DeChambeau clearly wants to keep his options open as he realizes his playing opportunities will be limited next season as LIV targets a leaner 10-event schedule.
