Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera<\/a>\u2019s season could be over after he injured his hamstring in the first quarter of St Kilda\u2019s clash with Carlton<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Saints<\/a> star pulled up on the wing after trying to catch a handball and hobbled straight towards the bench. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the wildcard story right there as he walks off the ground. No footy fan likes to see this,\u201d Demons legend Garry Lyon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s your old-fashioned hamstring. That\u2019s no good at all.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can feel the crowd here, the air has gone out of it from a St Kilda point of view.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ll have to get on with the job, but that is the story of the night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wanganeen-Milera went up the sheds and returned to the bench with ice on his hamstring before he was ruled out for the rest of the match. <\/p>\n

At the time, scores were level at 1.0 (6) – 1.0 (6) before Carlton raced ahead to a 13-point lead at the break. <\/p>\n

The quarter kept getting worse for St Kilda with Brad Hill, Liam Ryan, and Tom De Koning all copping injury concerns. <\/p>\n

By half-time, Carlton was dominating the match, leading 8.5 (53) – 4.4 (28). <\/p>\n

The Blues continued to keep St Kilda at arm\u2019s length for the rest of the match and finished 16.10 (106) – 8.14 (62) winners. <\/p>\n

Post-match, Ross Lyon said he could tell before Wanganeen-Milera\u2019s injury that his side wasn\u2019t properly switched on. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not ideal losing your best player, but in saying that you\u2019ve got to overcome it and not let it derail you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably even before he went off there were some signs we weren\u2019t liking, but it didn\u2019t help.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wanganeen-Milera had come into the match under an injury cloud, missing Thursday training due to a hip pointer problem. <\/p>\n

The match had major ramifications for the wildcard spots with Carlton in 10th and four points ahead of 11th-placed St Kilda. The Blues have now made that an eight-point margin from the Saints, GWS and North Melbourne. <\/p>\n
