“I’m sure in the past somewhere I’ve probably sat in a lonely corner with a beer or two or three and commiserated in some miserable fashion.”<\/p>\n
The sting in the tail? When Fogerty later made his own solo album, he was sued for sounding too much like, well, himself.<\/p>\n
“I’ll have another beer for that one,” he said.<\/p>\n
It’s taken two groundbreaking court cases, a lot of money and more than half a century, but the legendary musician finally has his songs back.<\/p>\n

“Sometimes it was my son, Shane, who had to come into the studio and say, ‘Dad, you’re not playing that right!’ That’s a humbling experience,” he laughed.<\/p>\n
Despite the time that’s passed, Fogerty’s new tracks sound just as good – perhaps even better – than the originals.<\/p>\n
“Making this album, Legacy, really helped to kind of dissipate all that [negativity] … I’m smiling. I’m not sure I ever really thought this would come to pass.”<\/p>\n
