{"id":849814,"date":"2026-08-10T03:28:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T03:28:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/849814\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T03:28:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T03:28:16","slug":"supercars-changes-fuel-tank-capacity-for-bathurst-1000-finals-enduros","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/849814\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars changes fuel tank capacity for Bathurst 1000, finals, enduros"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SUPERCARS has swung a change to the degree to which it will reduce fuel tank capacity at the Enduro Cup and Finals Series events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Supplementary Regulations released for next month\u2019s AirTouch 500 at The Bend show that capacity for the final five rounds of the season will be 127 litres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That differs from the usual 133-litre figure in play during the Repco Sprint Cup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Supercars last year initially listed 118 litres as the enduros\/finals capacity before upping that to 121.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBy adjusting the fuel capacity, we\u2019re encouraging teams to be creative in how they structure their stints,\u201d the category\u2019s chief motorsport officer Tim Edwards explained at the time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/2026-repco-bathurst-1000-official-program?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2026-bathurst-1000-program.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt adds complexity to strategy, opens up opportunities to pass through pitstops, and keeps the racing alive right to the final stint.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">V8 Sleuth understands the increase now to 127 is due to the higher consumption rate associated with the new-for-2026 fully renewable fuel blend being used.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The increased minimum lap percentage that each driver must complete in an enduro will remain at 37 percent, having sat at 33 percent prior to 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That means both drivers of a car must turn at least 54 laps in the 147-lapper at The Bend, and at least 60 laps in the 161-lap Great Race at Mount Panorama.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/RGP-2026-Bosch-PowerTools-Perth-S440-_25A6326-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-261540\"  \/>Queensland Raceway will be the last round in 2026 whereby fuel churns will be in use.
