The official trailer for new documentary Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear<\/a> has been released \u2013 featuring his Blink-182<\/a> bandmates, the late Taylor Hawkins<\/a> and more. Watch below.<\/p>\n

The \u201cunfiltered\u201d 90-minute film is set for release\u00a0on Hulu and Hulu On\u00a0Disney<\/a>+ for bundle subscribers in the US, and via Disney+ globally this Friday (August 13). It\u2019ll follow the doc\u2019s world premiere at the Tribeca Festival<\/a> in New York earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

Co-directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, the project explores the Blink drummer\u2019s\u00a0life and career,\u00a0the 2008 plane crash that almost claimed his life<\/a>, and the \u201craw and redemptive journey\u201d he embarked on afterwards.<\/p>\n

Louder Than Fear finds the musician \u201cbattling pain, grief and the thin line between survival and surrender\u201d, per an official description. It boasts appearances from collaborators, cultural icons and those closest to Barker.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the story of the man behind the tattoos. A tribute to those who keep going when the music almost stops,\u201d the synopsis adds.<\/p>\n

Now, an almost three-minute trailer has been shared online, giving fans a sneak peek at what to expect from the emotional film. The clip begins by reflecting on the aftermath of Barker\u2019s near-death experience, before the drummer speaks of experiencing \u201cthe worst flashbacks\u201d about the crash.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

We then hear praise for Barker\u2019s abilities behind the kit, with one interview clip featuring former Foo Fighters<\/a> sticksman Hawkins \u2013 who died in 2022, aged 50<\/a>. \u201cHe just had this, \u2018Oh, you\u2019re gonna get picked up by a band, and you will be a star attraction\u2019 [quality],\u201d Hawkins said.<\/p>\n

Later, Barker recalled being enlisted by Mark Hoppus<\/a> and Tom DeLonge<\/a> to join Blink-182<\/a>\u2018s line-up. Hoppus said having him on board \u201cfelt effortless\u201d, while DeLonge looked back on the trio\u2019s \u201cwild ride\u201d.<\/p>\n

Barker went on to remember how the \u201cnon-stop\u201d touring schedule resulted in his addiction to painkillers<\/a>. \u201cI was taking so many pills that I had a security guard whose only job was to watch me sleep and make sure I was breathing,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

The trailer then detailed the \u201cfire and chaos\u201d of the plane crash \u2013 which resulted in Barker suffering third-degree burns on 65 per cent of his body, and spending three months in hospital for \u201c27 surgeries\u201d.<\/p>\n

He previously said the subsequent anxiety and depression were so great that he \u201coffered a friend $1milllion to kill him\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Barker\u2019s assistant Chris \u2018Lil Chris\u2019 Baker\u00a0and bodyguard\u00a0Charles \u2018Che\u2019 Still were killed in the crash, along with the pilot and co-pilot.\u00a0Barker\u00a0and\u00a0Adam \u2018DJ AM\u2019 Goldstein survived,\u00a0but the latter died a year later due to an accidental drug overdose<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cChe and Chris were like brothers to me,\u201d Barker said in the new trailer, reflecting on his survivor\u2019s guilt. \u201cAnd then AM passing away a year later\u2026 why am I here, when everyone else isn\u2019t?\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI had to ask myself who I was gonna be after this accident.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are also clips of interviews with Barker\u2019s wife, Kourtney Kardashian, and his children, as the musician expressed his \u201cappreciation for life\u201d.<\/p>\n

Barker appeared at the tribute concerts for Taylor Hawkins in London<\/a> and Los Angeles<\/a> in 2022. The following year, he revealed that he had asked Hawkins to play drums together shortly before his passing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Blink drummer previously explained that the 2008 plane crash made him quit prescription drugs, describing it as \u201cmy rehab\u201d<\/a>. He has since overcome his fear of flying. In 2021, he took his first flight in 13 years with his now-wife Kourtney Kardashian<\/a>. Two years ago, Barker shared a tribute to his friends who died in the accident<\/a>. \u201cGone but never forgotten,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Barker has described the forthcoming Louder Than Fear as \u201can unfiltered look at my journey after a life-changing experience\u201d that \u201cspotlights the amazing people I have in my life who carried me through it\u201d (via Rolling Stone<\/a>). \u201cI feel incredibly lucky to be able to document it and be able to share it with all of you,\u201d he continued<\/p>\n

\u201cThis documentary started over 10 years ago and it\u2019s been a wild, wild ride, and I can\u2019t wait to share it with the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Barker has revealed that Blink-182 are currently working on a new album<\/a>.
