BTS’s Arirang album cut “Aliens” reaches a new peak of No. 4 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart as fans turn it into a sudden bestseller again. After the Recording Academy decided to introduce a Best Asian Pop Music Performance category for the 2027 awards, many predicted that BTS<\/a> would finally score a trophy after years of nominations with no wins. However, the boy band recently announced that it will not be submitting any of its eligible works for consideration<\/a> in protest of the new vertical, which some critics \u2014 and apparently the chart-topping group itself \u2014 feel is limiting.<\/p>\n In response to BTS\u2019s protest, fans of the boy band \u2013 known collectively as ARMY \u2013 banded together to purchase one track. \u201cAliens\u201d returns to multiple Billboard rankings this week and establishes a new high point on one competitive roster thanks to the support of thousands across the United States.<\/p>\n BTS\u2019s \u2018Aliens\u2019 Reaches a New Sales Peak<\/p>\n \u201cAliens\u201d<\/a> returns to the Digital Song Sales chart<\/a> this week, where it breaks back in at No. 4. The ranking lists the bestselling individual songs via download storefronts throughout the U.S. That position marks a new peak for \u201cAliens,\u201d and the tune pushes higher than ever in only its second appearance on the tally.<\/p>\n BTS Has Five No. 4-Peaking Hits<\/p>\n \u201cAliens\u201d becomes one of five tracks by BTS to peak at No. 4 on the Digital Song Sales ranking. The tune joins \u201cMIC Drop\u201d with Desiigner, \u201cFilter,\u201d \u201cTelepathy\u201d and \u201cFor Youth,\u201d all of which also climbed all the way to fourth place without surging any higher.<\/p>\n BTS Has Collected 15 No. 1 Smashes<\/p>\n BTS claims one of the most impressive collections of champions in the history of the Digital Song Sales tally. The band has seen 15 tracks fly all the way to No. 1. The seven singers are currently tied with Drake for the third-most leaders of all time. Morgan Wallen scores another leader this time around with \u201cBeen By Now.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n According to Luminate, the country cut starts at No. 1 with approximately 12,500 purchases. \u201cAliens,\u201d meanwhile, sold about 3,400 copies during the same tracking period \u2013 only around one-third of what Wallen\u2019s latest managed.<\/p>\n BTS Claims Two Top Five Sales Hits This Week<\/p>\n BTS fills two spaces inside the top five on this week\u2019s Digital Song Sales chart. As \u201cAliens\u201d reenters at No. 4, \u201cNormal\u201d remains even higher at No. 2.<\/p>\n BTS Returns to Both Global Rankings<\/p>\n \u201cAliens\u201d also reappears on both of Billboard\u2019s worldwide tallies. The song returns to Nos. 94 and 156 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and the Billboard Global 200, respectively. The song, released earlier this year on BTS\u2019s comeback set Arirang, previously peaked at No. 6 on both rosters.<\/p>\n
