Rochester, N.Y. \u2014 A boxing event scheduled to be held at the home of the Rochester Red Wings has been canceled by organizers, the team announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The event was slated to be headlined by two-time world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, 53, as he kicked off his campaign to become the oldest heavyweight champion in boxing history. <\/p>\n

The Red Wings said tickets purchased through the team have already been refunded. Those purchased through a third party will have go to through the original point of purchase for a refund.<\/p>\n

No details about what led to the cancellation have been released. The event was originally scheduled for July 14 before being rescheduled to Aug. 18.<\/p>\n

A separate boxing event in Rochester, held April 25 at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial, was marred by lower-than-expected attendance and an estimated $100,000 deficit \u2014 including late payments to fighters \u2014 that organizers have been working to repay.<\/p>\n
