<\/p>\nThere are plenty of fighters Jazzy Parr expected to face during her professional career.<\/p>\n
Jemma Peart certainly wasn\u2019t one of them.<\/p>\n
For almost five years, the Aussie pair have trained alongside each other, sharing hundreds \u2013 potentially thousands \u2013 of rounds in the gym before eventually becoming close friends outside it.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And when we say close, we mean close. <\/p>\n
Parr\u2019s boyfriend has taken Peart\u2019s daughter out for surfing lessons, while sitting in Parr\u2019s room on the Gold Coast this week is a bag of clothes she has promised to give her mate.<\/p>\n
There is just one small catch.<\/p>\n
First, they have to fight each other.<\/p>\n

(Photo by Chris Hyde\/Getty Images)Source: Getty Images<\/p>\n Parr and Peart will put their friendship temporarily on hold when they collide on Wednesday night\u2019s blockbuster Matchroom Boxing card at The Star Gold Coast, headlined by Australian heavyweight sensation Teremoana Teremoana and American knockout merchant DeAndre Savage.<\/p>\n And Parr admits the prospect of facing someone she knows so well initially wasn\u2019t easy to process.<\/p>\n \u201cAt the start, I was kind of emotional about it because she was definitely last on my radar,\u201d Parr told Fox Sports Australia.<\/p>\n \u201cBut at the end of the day, this is one of the biggest platforms in the world, and we\u2019re both professionals, so it\u2019s a really great opportunity for both of us.<\/p>\n \u201cWe both have the opportunity to show our skills, so it\u2019s good. We\u2019re happy.\u201d<\/p>\n Few opponents will ever know Parr quite like the Australian flyweight champion does.<\/p>\n Asked how many rounds the pair have shared during their years together, Parr laughed.<\/p>\n \u201cOh my gosh, hundreds!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe know each other really well.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019d be close to thousands of rounds.\u201d<\/p>\n Which makes Wednesday night\u2019s showdown an unusual challenge for both women.<\/p>\n There are few secrets left after that much time spent together in the gym.<\/p>\n Yet despite preparing to trade punches under the bright lights on Wednesday night, Parr insists there has been no bad blood.<\/p>\n Quite the opposite.<\/p>\n The pair have continued talking throughout fight camp.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think so,\u201d Parr said when asked whether the fight could impact their friendship.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been actually communicating throughout this whole camp. Not anything on what the fight\u2019s going to be like, but, you know, we\u2019re just friendly.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re both adults, and we\u2019re both mature about it.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I think it\u2019s going to be great.
