Savage had arrived in Australia promising to test Teremoana like nobody before him, bringing an 11-1 record with all 11 victories coming via knockout.<\/p>\n
Instead, he became the latest heavyweight unable to withstand the KO king\u2019s frightening artillery.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s the best guy I\u2019ve been in the ring with for sure,\u201d said Savage.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis timing, his distance. Everything was on point.\u201d<\/p>\n
And Savage reckons this is only the beginning. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe should go all the way [to the title],\u201d said Savage.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe should own the belt.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think he\u2019s ready to step up.\u201d<\/p>\n
The victory moves Teremoana to 12-0 and continues a remarkable start to his pro career, with every one of those wins coming inside the distance. Most in the first round.<\/p>\n
And if Savage believes the big man is ready for the next step, Teremoana certainly isn\u2019t arguing.<\/p>\n
Asked backstage if he had a message for the heavyweight division, the 28-year-old grinned. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Thunder from Down Under is coming,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t care who stands in front of me.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday was Savage \u2013 and he brought a good fight. You could see his experience\u2026 he was trying to make me come onto something.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut obviously it didn\u2019t work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teremoana then threw down the challenge to anyone willing to stand in his way. <\/p>\n
\u201cLet\u2019s put anyone in front of me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m prepared to show the world I am the best, and I\u2019m the best fighter in Australia, as I keep on proclaiming. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf you have a problem with that, get in the ring.\u201d <\/p>\n
Finding someone willing to accept that invitation, however, might be tough going.<\/p>\n
Eddie Hearn has repeatedly labelled Teremoana the most avoided fighter in Australian boxing, claiming local heavyweights have been offered huge paydays to face the human wrecking ball \u2013 only to knock them back.<\/p>\n
Asked if he agreed that he was the most avoided fighter, Teremoana pointed to his luckless pursuit of the Australian title. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve wanted the Australian title for how long, and we haven\u2019t got it yet,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m 12 fights in, and the Australian champ doesn\u2019t say my name. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe likes to avoid it, but that\u2019s why we got managers. That\u2019s why we got a team, so they can guide me to the top.\u201d<\/p>\n
And after watching another heavyweight get flattened, Hearn doesn\u2019t expect the queue to fight Teremoana to suddenly get any longer. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s so frustrating in Australia because no one wants to fight him,\u201d said Hearn backstage.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd domestically, you should be up for taking the challenge. <\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t blame them either, but it\u2019s going to be harder and harder to match him. <\/p>\n
\u201cBut it\u2019s so exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n

One thing Hearn doesn\u2019t want, however, is Teremoana sitting on the sidelines. <\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to have two fights this year, definitely, and you know, go into 2027 saying the back end of that year we want to fight for the world heavyweight championship,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut he needs another four or five fights before he\u2019s in those kinds of fights, and he needs someone that can take him five or six rounds. <\/p>\n
\u201cSo I don\u2019t know, I don\u2019t know who they are, but unfortunately, they\u2019re probably going to be much more dangerous opposition because we can\u2019t afford to just keep stopping everybody in the first and second round. <\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, we can if he does it all the way, but we know sooner or later there\u2019s going to be a 10 round, 12 round war in there, and he\u2019ll be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n
The big Aussie still has some climbing to do, but Hearn says those at the top of the heavyweight tree are already keeping tabs on him. <\/p>\n
\u201cWithout doubt [heavyweights are noticing him],\u201d said Hearn.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know because I talk to them. They\u2019re all curious. <\/p>\n
\u201cLike AJ [Anthony Joshua] said to me a few times, \u2018What\u2019s this Teremoana like? He\u2019s a fucking monster\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re fascinated by it.\u201d<\/p>\n
For now, though, Hearn was simply happy to see his heavyweight charge pass another test in devastating fashion. <\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of boxes ticked tonight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was his first headline. <\/p>\n
