When Solomon was asked about the rumours on Thursday morning, he said he \u201cdidn\u2019t know where they have come from\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re obviously rumours, (McVeigh) has been one of my best mates since the age of 15,\u201d Solomon said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve known Hirdy since the age of 17, so I\u2019m not sure (where they\u2019re coming from).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe talks of me potentially not being here next week, whether that\u2019s stimulated a bit of those conversations, we weren\u2019t sure.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like it\u2019s a bit of an episode of Home and Away.\u201d<\/p>\n

He reiterated that the club go through a \u201cthorough process\u201d of vetting all four candidates which also include non-Essendon clubmen, Fremantle assistant Jaymie Graham and Adelaide assistant Murray Davis.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt doesn\u2019t need to be an Essendon person,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI truly believe that it just needs to be the right person for the club.\u201d<\/p>\n
The interim coach dropped out of the race for the full-time gig after a horror run of results since taking over.<\/p>\n
Solomon maintained his indecision surrounding his own future, claiming he\u2019s still going through \u201cthe process\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy wife and kids live in northern NSW, so I\u2019ve had 10 to 11 months away from them. Is that sustainable in the long term? It\u2019s probably not,\u201d Solomon said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reality is a new coach is coming in two weeks\u2019 time, they\u2019re to want to bring in some staff that they want to work alongside for two, three years.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would have thought continuity is really important.<\/p>\n
