The South Georgia Catfish still have a playoff to make. That is, if their star player can keep up the ruse on his real identity for that long.

The walls are closing in on Russ Holliday (Glen Powell) in Season 2 of Chad Powers, as evidenced by the trailer Hulu released Thursday. Now that Ricky (Perry Mattfeld) has figured out the disgraced former Oregon quarterback has been donning prosthetics and pretending to be a college student again to lead the Catfish to a National Championship, it’s only a matter of time before other people find out, too.

After all, Russ is not a very good liar, and pretty much everything about the persona he’s created as Chad Powers raises eyebrows.

“I might be in over my head,” he meekly admits to Ricky at one point in the trailer, which is embedded above.

In Season 2, Chad Powers is a superstar on the field but his odd behavior off it has everyone suspicious – especially Coach Hudson and Gerry. The walls are closing in on Russ’s lie, and if he and Danny want Chad to survive the regular season and lead the Catfish to the CFP, the only person who can help them is the last person who wants to: Ricky.

Chad Powers Season 2 premieres on September 3.

The series stars Powell as Russ Holliday/Chad Powers, Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager, Frankie Rodriguez as Danny and Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson.
