He is already in good spirits after undergoing surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Former NBA player DeQuan Jones collapsed with a devastating lower leg injury in the Philippine Basketball Association.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred last Tuesday, as Jones was playing as the resident import for the NLEX Road Warriors against TNT Tropang Giga during the 2025-26 Governor&#8217;s Cup of the Filipino league.<\/p>\n<p>With over seven minutes remaining in the third quarter, Jones drove to the basket for a contested layup against defenders. As he came down, his right foot landed awkwardly, leaving his lower leg trapped in an unnatural position.<\/p>\n<p>TNT big man Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser fell onto Jones\u2019 planted leg while attempting to contest the shot. The collision caused Jones to suffer a severe right fibula fracture and ankle dislocation in a disturbing live-game injury.<\/p>\n<p>The entire arena was left agonized, as Jones was carried off via a stretcher and loaded straight into a waiting ambulance after the gruesome incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/a\/status\/2087167209563165173\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">  DeQuan Jones suffers Paul George-like injury in gruesome scene <\/p>\n<p>DeQuan Jones\u2019 injury was compared to Paul George&#8217;s tragic injury over a decade ago. The former NBA star notably suffered a compound fracture of both bones in his lower right leg during a Team USA scrimmage in Las Vegas ahead of the 2014 FIBA World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>In Jones&#8217; case, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spin.ph\/basketball\/pba\/dequan-jones-has-suffered-paul-george-type-injury-say-docs-a793-20260812\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">per<\/a> Spin.ph., he sustained three severe injuries to his right lower leg and ankle: a complete fracture of the fibula, a dislocated ankle, and a medial malleolar fracture (broken ankle bone).<\/p>\n<p>He has already undergone successful surgery and was reportedly in good spirits following the unfortunate event.<\/p>\n<p>Before going down, Jones had successfully anchored the NLEX Road Warriors to the top seed in Group A of the tournament, dismantling teams with a 7-1 record under debuting coach and former NBA assistant Jimmy Alapag.<\/p>\n<p>He is averaging 24.8 points and 7.6 rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>A 36-year-old journeyman, Jones went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft.
