It\u2019s a new day and new shit \u2014 excuse me, that\u2019s shift \u2014 at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, known to its employees and fans as \u201cThe Pitt<\/a>,\u201d returning to HBO Max<\/a> in 2026.<\/p>\n

A teaser<\/a> for Season 2, which will premiere within a year of Season 1, shows Dr. Michael \u201cRobby\u201d Robinavitch (Noah Wyle) and his team of doctors, surgeons, nurses, and residents returning to the floor for another 15-hour shift full of unexpected challenges and ailments. Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Sepideh Moafi reprise their roles from Season 1, as does Patrick Ball as the potentially disgraced Dr. Langdon, who appears in a critical moment of the teaser.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Pitt\u201d comes from John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television, created by R. Scott Gemmill. The 15-episode first season received 13 Emmy\u00a0nominations and looks to have a good chance<\/a> at the September 14 awards ceremony. IndieWire\u2019s Marcus Jones see strong odds<\/a> for the freshman series, which took Gemmill and Wyle back to their \u201cE.R.\u201d roots and arguably resuscitated the medical drama under the HBO Max banner. \u201cThe Pitt\u201d won the award for Breakthrough Drama Series at June\u2019s Gotham TV<\/a> Awards, where Wyle and LaNasa were also nominated for their performances. At the Television Critics Association Awards, the show won all four of its categories, including Program of the Year.<\/p>\n

In an interview with IndieWire in the spring,<\/a> executive producer John Wells said, \u201cThe show is presenting hard-working, blue-collar people who are trying to make a difference, and are coming at their work every day in a certain way, bringing a lot of dedication in very difficult circumstances, with some integrity and a moral compass and saying, \u2018Look, I can\u2019t change the world. I can do this today. I can do this in this one-hour period or this two-hour period.\u2019 People do find comfort in that. They find something to admire in it, which we need.\u201d<\/p>\n

In just a few months, they\u2019ll be back to changing the world, one patient and one hour at a time.<\/p>\n
