The team placed the second-round pick on season-ending injured reserve Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He tore the medial collateral ligament in his left knee on Thursday night. The Cardinals could have waited to put him on IR until final cuts to give him a chance to come back late in the season, but decided not to rush him back post-surgery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe will be out for a good amount of time, <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azcardinals.com\/news\/chase-bisontis-to-be-placed-on-injured-reserve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">if not the whole year<\/a>,\u201d coach Mike LaFleur said Saturday, via Darren Urban of the team website. \u201cSucks for him. Always think about the player first. Sucks for the Cardinals, too. He\u2019s a good player, but more importantly, you hate it for the player.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinals listed Bisontis as the second-team right guard, but he was competing with Isaiah Adams for the starting job. Jon Gaines II and Hayden Conner are the next in line at guard.<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinals also placed linebacker Austin Keys (undisclosed) and tight end Jameson Geers (thumb) on injured reserve.<\/p>\n<p>In corresponding moves, the Cardinals signed tight end Baylor Cupp, running back Tre Stewart and defensive lineman Keveion\u2019ta Spears.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It\u2019s official: Cardinals rookie guard Chase Bisontis will miss his entire rookie season.
