Jett Cleary\u2019s early release request from the Warriors <\/a>has reportedly put a strain on the club\u2019s relationship with the Panthers. <\/p>\n

Cleary has spent the last two seasons in the Warriors\u2019 system, mostly plying his trade in reserve grade. <\/p>\n

He has yet to make his NRL debut but that could change shortly given the Warriors\u2019 halves crisis after injuries to Te Maire Martin and Luke Metcalf.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old has requested a release from his Warriors deal at season\u2019s end in order to join his brother Nathan and father Ivan in the latter\u2019s final year at the helm at Penrith.<\/p>\n

The younger Cleary\u2018s current deal with the Warriors runs until the end of 2027 and his request to return home have left the club none too pleased.<\/p>\n

According to Code Sports<\/a>, the Warriors planned to decline the request, which caught Penrith off-side given the Panthers let gun prop James Fisher-Harris head across the Tasman two years before the end of his deal.<\/p>\n

However, the two clubs are set to resolve things in the coming days and Jett\u2019s wish is set to be granted.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting that Warriors coach Andrew Webster used to be an assistant coach under Cleary at Penrith but there\u2019s no suggestion their relationship has suffered because of this development.<\/p>\n

Jett\u2019s older brother Nathan is also dealing with question marks around his future.<\/p>\n
