(Northern News Now) &#8211; The St. Louis County Sheriff\u2019s Office Police <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stlouiscopal.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.stlouiscopal.com\/\">Athletic League<\/a> held its first-ever youth boxing event Friday night at Clyde Iron Works, drawing local, state, and regional athletes to compete in the ring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The event featured 18 matches representing 15 different clubs, with both male and female boxers participating. Organizers said the event builds opportunities and confidence while strengthening the Minnesota boxing community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Participating boxer Thomas Nacotee said the energy from the crowd is what drives him during a match.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWhen I\u2019m jabbing in the ring, or you know, doing whatever \u2014 the crowds are helping me. They\u2019re yelling, \u2018body,\u2019 or \u2018face,\u2019 or \u2018jab.\u2019 I just listen to them, and hopefully, it works,\u201d Nacotee said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Doors opened at 3 p.m. with matches beginning at 4 p.m. Tickets were $20 at the door.
