Two teams looked alarmingly unprepared, while another team received a painful reminder that August victories can come at an enormous cost.<\/p>\n<p>Cleveland Browns<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nfl\/teams\/cleveland_browns\/34\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Browns\u00a0<\/a>entered Saturday hoping somebody would take control of their crowded quarterback competition. Instead, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nfl\/players\/deshaun_watson\/513646\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Deshaun Watson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nfl\/players\/shedeur_sanders\/927889\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Shedeur Sanders<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nfl\/players\/dillon_gabriel\/654590\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dillon Gabriel<\/a> each committed a turnover during a 34\u201310 loss to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nfl\/teams\/chicago_bears\/50\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Chicago Bears<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Watson produced the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevelandbrowns.com\/news\/bears-34-browns-10-final-score-stats-game-recap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">best numbers<\/a> of the group, completing 11 of 15 passes for 126 yards. He also lost a fumble on fourth down, giving Chicago the field position it needed to begin erasing Cleveland\u2019s early 10-point lead.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders followed with 79 yards and an interception. Gabriel threw two more interceptions as the game deteriorated in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>Cleveland does not need four quarterbacks capable of occasionally looking competent. It needs one capable of winning regular-season games. Saturday provided no clear answer, unless the answer is that the Browns remain dangerously close to entering another season without a trustworthy starter.<\/p>\n<p>Preseason statistics can be dismissed.
