In a clip from\u00a0“Dan On Golf” with Dan Rapaport, Scheffler was asked how many games he thought the NFL\u2019s Dallas Cowboys would win this season.<\/p>\n

“I saw their ceiling on ESPN was 11-6, so I mean I\u2019m going to hope for the ceiling and go with 11,” Scheffler replied, referencing an early preseason projection.<\/p>\n
The comment came less than 24 hours after Scheffler\u2019s latest PGA Tour victory, a comeback win at the BMW Championship.<\/p>\n
Scheffler\u2019s 2025 Season: A Historic Run<\/p>\n
Scheffler\u2019s BMW Championship triumph on Sunday was his\u00a0fifth PGA Tour win of the year\u00a0and the\u00a018th of his career.<\/p>\n
The victory, secured with a decisive 82-foot chip-in birdie on the 17th hole, also marked the second leg of the FedExCup Playoffs and kept him atop the season-long standings heading into the Tour Championship.<\/p>\n

Five PGA Tour wins, including the PGA Championship and The Open Championship.<\/p>\n

A Lifelong Cowboys Fan<\/p>\n
Born in New Jersey but raised in Dallas from age six, Scheffler has been open about his deep connection to the Cowboys.<\/p>\n
In July, he told<\/a> the\u00a0“Pardon My Take”\u00a0podcast he would “trade one [major] for sure for a Super Bowl” and joked he\u2019d give up “like 10” regular PGA Tour wins for the same outcome.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n He has described himself as the type of fan who enters every season convinced the team will win it all, despite decades without a conference championship appearance.<\/p>\n Dallas\u2019 last Super Bowl victory came in January 1996, five months before Scheffler was born.<\/p>\n Looking ahead, Scheffler tees it up at East Lake Golf Club on August 21 for the season-ending Tour Championship, where he will start with the FedExCup lead.
